Orders & Pricing

Pricing

Any custom graphics guru will tell you that pricing depends on what you want - and that's the truth of the matter. Factors such as design and masking complexity (like a really intricate tribal flame job or lettering), special effects paints or techniques (like marblizing, ghosting, candies etc.), pinstriping, number of clear-coats required, or after production polishing can all effect the pricing and time it takes to complete your order.A good ball-park range for goalie helmets in a like new condition might be:

  • Starting around $100 for a base color change ($120 for some specailty paints) up to two colors and simple layout (think Michigan Wolverines type simple).
  • Up to $450 for a complex design*

We'll get a better idea after an initial visit and we can work with your budget to get a design that meets your needs. We'll provide a written estimate for work and require 50% down with 50% due upon delivery, unless other arrangements are made.

We accept shipped orders, via UPS. Or if you are local (Dallas/Fort Worth MetroPlex) we can arrange for pick-up or drop off.

We prefer it if you remove your own cages, chinstraps, backplate straps, padding etc. from helmets and keep them with you. For an additional charge, if your cage/screws are badly rusted on, we can remove them (usually we need to cut the screws off) and repair any marks left from removal, and we'll replace all the screws and clips with new hardware.

Helmets with existing vinyl graphics applied from the manufacturer and some other helmets may not be paintable. These are usually, but not always, lesser quality products to begin with, and were not meant to accept a professional paint job. We'll let you know upon inspection of the helmet.

DISCLAIMER: Nearly all helmet manufacturers we've seen will automatically void any warranty that comes with their helmets, if you so much as place a smiley face sticker on them. That said, it is our belief and experience thus far, that the products and processes we use not only DO NOT harm the integrity of the materials, but can even strengthen them. Use your own judgement when it comes to painting your protective equipment. Bad Dog Art assumes no responsiblity for equipment failure.
